Outreach – Outreach programming is geared towards connecting young adults around Lowell and the Greater Lowell area to provide basic needs, connection to local resources and supports. Our outreach team works in partnership with other local providers and community partners to identify young people and meet them where they are at.
The Mill You –Viewed as an extension of outreach services, The Mill You offers a safe space for young adults to access basic needs including laundry, showers, basic hygienic items, snacks and a full kitchen to cook and prepare meals. This space is low barrier and geared to support young adults in working toward personal goals and stabilization.
The Snack Shack –The Snack Shack, located within The Mill You is a youth focused pantry geared toward young adults and families. The Snack Shack works in partnership with the Merrimack Valley Food Bank and offers a variety of meals and snacks that provide pathways for young adults to access proper nutrition.
Case Management –Case Management services start as soon as youth walk through Youth Services’ doors. Whether it’s just a simple conversation and a snack, or discussing rent and long term planning, we are here to help every step of the way. Case Managers are youth focused and goal-oriented. They work closely with young people to gain employment, access education, connect with community partners, ensure stabilization in housing and provide hands-on support in the development of positive life skills.
Youth Rapid Rehousing* –Youth Rapid Rehousing Program (RRH) is one of Youth Services many housing pathways that can provide rental supports to ensure young adults have a safe and stable roof over their head. Programming comes with case management and supportive services.
Transitional Housing* – The Transitional Housing Program (THP) is a short term housing opportunity for young adults experiencing homelessness. The program focuses on stabilization and connection to community partners. THP offers supportive case management as well as opportunity for participants to establish themselves in the community, develop and execute identified goals, and work toward independence.
College Engagement – Youth Services is excited to be partnering with UMASS Lowell and Middlesex Community College to engage students who may be experiencing housing instability. Youth Services works in partnership with the college and university to identify students and provide supportive services that range from access to basic needs/educational needs, to long term housing pathways.

Youth Family Foundations
This program is for young people ages 14-24 who are pregnant and/or parenting and in need of support with community connections, and access to basic needs and housing pathways. Groups and workshops will be offered monthly with a focus on parenting, mental health, self care, nutrition, community connections and a father’s support group.

Youth Services is proud to host the very first Lowell Youth Action Board, the LAB. This group is made up of young adults who have touched homelessness or housing insecurity and are brought together to address barriers to stability, systematic concerns, advocacy and raising awareness of young adult homelessness.
