Press Release – Community Teamwork Launches Mother’s Day Campaign to Support New Women’s Shelter

This Mother’s Day, Community Teamwork Inc. is inviting the community to honor the women who shaped their lives by supporting a new initiative to provide safety, stability, and hope for women in need.

Community Teamwork today announced the launch of its Mother’s Day campaign, “A Safe Place to Begin Again,” aimed at raising funds for the development of a new Women’s Shelter that will provide safe housing and supportive services for women experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and other crises.

“Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the strength, compassion, and resilience of the women who have shaped our lives,” said Carl Howell, Chief Executive Officer of Community Teamwork. “But for many women in our community, safety and stability are not guaranteed. This campaign is an opportunity for all of us to honor the women we love by helping create a safe place for others to rebuild their lives.”

The new Women’s Shelter will offer:

  • Safe and secure housing
  • Counseling and support services
  • Resources for long-term stability and independence
  • A welcoming environment where women can begin again with dignity

Through the campaign, community members are encouraged to make tribute gifts in honor of a mother, grandmother, mentor, or loved one, helping to create a meaningful connection between personal celebration and community impact.

“Every gift made through this campaign represents both a tribute to someone special and a commitment to strengthening our community,” Howell added. “Together, we can ensure that every woman has access to the safety and support she deserves.”

“Community Teamwork’s work reflects our shared commitment to ensuring dignity and opportunity for all residents,” said Lowell City Manager Thomas A. Golden, Jr. “This initiative is an important investment in the safety and strength of our community.”

The campaign will run through Mother’s Day, with a goal of raising significant funds to support the shelter’s development and services. Community members can learn more and make a donation by visiting: https://donate.onecause.com/womenshelter
