Community Teamwork, Inc. (CTI)’s mission is to be a “Catalyst for Social Change.” As a community action agency, it is in our foundation to provide support, resources, and opportunities to individuals and communities that are marginalized and oppressed by systemic injustices and inequities. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work involves providing education, support, and resources, and this is exactly what we do by the nature of who we are. We recognize that DEIB work involves both educational and cultural changes, as well as structural and systemic ones.
To that end, CTI is committed to addressing, challenging, and preventing prejudice in its many forms against our staff, clients, and partners based upon (but not limited to) the following identities:
- Race and ethnicity
- Gender identity
- Sexual orientation
- National Origin
- Mental Health
- Military Status
- Marital Status
- Family Status
- Genetic Information
- Socioeconomic Status
- Citizenship or Immigration Status
CTI regularly engages and collaborates with our staff to identify and address DEIB concerns within the organization and within our community. We also provide ongoing safe and brave spaces for conversations, relationship-building, and education. CTI Leadership is unified in our individual and collective responsibility to being an anti-racist organization and to addressing racism and prejudice in all forms at the individual, interpersonal, and institutional levels. We are firm in our expectation that all staff and clients are treated with respect, dignity, and affirmation of their identities and lived experiences.
As an anti-racist community, we engage in conversations that take bravery, respect, and empathy. Our goal is to create safe, brave, and accountability spaces. The goal is to support our staff, clients, and partners to share their stories and experiences, to identify systemic issues, and work together to mitigate their impact on our staff, clients, partners, and community.
