Start Here: Three Ways to File With Us

In-Person Appointment

Make an appointment to meet with an IRS-certified volunteer who will prepare your taxes on site.

Great if you prefer face-to-face support or have questions.


Drop-Off Service

Come in, pick up your packet, fill out your forms, and return everything to us.

We prepare your return while you go about your day.

We’ll contact you when it’s ready for review and signature.

What You Need to Bring

To prepare your return, please bring:

Identification

  • Valid photo ID (you and spouse, if filing jointly)
  • Social Security cards for everyone on the return (including Dependents)

Income Documents

  • W-2 forms
  • 1099s (NEC, MISC, G, R, SSA, unemployment, etc.)
  • Any income from self-employment

Other Tax Documents

  • 1098-T (education)
  • 1095-A (Marketplace health insurance)
  • Childcare provider info (name, address, EIN)
  • Direct deposit information (routing + account number)
  • Last year’s tax return (if available)

Do I qualify for free tax preparation?

Most individuals and families with annual income generally under $68,000 qualify for VITA services.


Is there a cost?

No. All VITA services are 100% free.


Who prepares my taxes?

IRS-certified Community Teamwork volunteers who complete annual training in tax law and quality review.


How long does it take?

  • In-person: Your return is prepared during your appointment.
  • Drop-off: Usually 3–7 business days.
  • Virtual: Timing depends on document upload and review, but most returns are completed within 5–10 business days.

Can you help with past-year tax returns?

Yes — we can assist with several prior years depending on IRS guidelines.


Do you offer language assistance?

Yes. Bilingual staff and volunteers are available; please ask when you arrive.
