School Age
Community Teamwork’s School Age Programs provide a safe and enjoyable place for 5 to 13-year old children to make friends, play games, practice sports, receive educational guidance, and engage in a variety of creative projects. The program provides quality after school care through enrichment activities and academic assistance. It serves as a bridge between the home and school connection. The daily program is planned to meet the needs of the individual as well as the group. Children are encouraged to develop and pursue individual interests while respecting the rights of others. All of the sites are licensed and inspected by the Department of Early Education and Care.
Community Teamwork serves school age children at the following locations in Lowell:
Bailey School, Greenhalge School, Lincoln School, McAuliffe School and Pawtucket Memorial School
The School Age Program is located in six public schools in Lowell: Bailey, Greenhalge, Lincoln, McAuliffe, Murkland, and Pawtucket.
Mill City Mentors is a mentoring program of Community Teamwork’s School Age Program, targeting Lowell youth, ages 6 – 14 who are enrolled in the Lowell Public Schools and Community Teamwork’s School Age Program. Mill City Mentors provides middle school-aged participants with meaningful leadership learning opportunities that cultivate essential skills, enhance social capacity, and foster empathy through mentorship. By fostering strong connections, younger children will benefit from positive mentorship, guidance, and encouragement, ultimately promoting personal growth and a sense of belonging within the program. By engaging these students through mentoring, we aim to instill a sense of purpose and commitment, encouraging their continued participation in the program and their schooling.
We are currently in the process of relaunching the Mill City Mentors program to better serve our community. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please check back for updates, as we expect to share more information in the near future. For immediate questions, please reach out to Melanie Bixby, mbixby@commteam.org.
